Walks Noticeboard
This part of our website includes a forum for forthcoming walks, a list of car parks with basic information and links to Google Maps, and a grid reference to Google Maps converter.

The forum helps you to find forthcoming walks, get to the starting points, and add walks that you're going to lead.
Using the Forum

Finding a walk
The most recent postings are at the top of the list but, due to limitations of the present software, these are not sorted into date order of the walks themselves. The yellow-highlighted "subject" lines contain the dates of the walks and you may well have to scroll down to find what you want!
When you have found the walk, make a note of the details, including the grid reference of the starting point(see "Google Maps from OS Grid References", below) then close the forum window.
Adding ("posting") a walk
This information is for our leaders. Enter the forum (see above) and click on New Entry.
You are presented with an online form, on which you type your name (doesn't have to be your real name) and a fake email address This is a public forum, so do NOT enter your real email address - use a made-up one such as "someone@mynet.net".
Next, put the title of your walk in the topic box (e.g. "Long Walk on 15th December) and then, in the comments section, put the details of your walk.
Finally, click on Save Entry ... and close the forum window to return to this page.

Parking your car
The table below lists most of our regular starting points. To find the one you want, scroll through the table using the scroll bar on the immediate right of the table, then click on either the name of the starting point or the grid reference and you're taken to Google Maps. Note: information supplied in good faith but we take no responsibility for errors. Please help us to fill in the blanks about charges and/or car parks to be added or deleted. Thanks!
Google Maps from OS Grid References
Type an OS grid reference including the grid letters (e.g. SJ147539) into the box below, click on "Go!" and a "Google Map" of your destination will be displayed. While you're there, you can also get directions for your journey. When finished, close the Maps window to return to this page.
